Product Description

Manufacturer Part Number: PS5806-4

This die-cast metal model airplane comes in 1/300 scale with landing gear and plastic stand. Model is approximately 4 1/2 inches long with 4 3/4 inch wingspan. Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation, aka "Super Connie", is propeller-driven, four-engined commercial airliner produced by Lockheed Corporation. It
has the iconic triple-tail design and the distinctive dolphin shaped fuselage of
all aircraft in the Constellation line. It was actually an improved version of the
L-049, stretched by 18 ft to compete with rival DC-6.
Qantas Airways is the flagship of Australia and the third oldest airline in the
world. The Qantas name is the acronym for its original name, "Queensland
and Northern Territory Aerial Services". Qantas' first Connie was used on the
Kangaroo route between London and Sydney in 1947, making Qantas the
first round-the-world airline. On January 14, 1958, two Qantas Super
Constellations left Melbourne, to begin the Qantas Round-the-World
Service, first visiting Sydney and then flying off in opposite directions, both
arriving back in Sydney on 20 January.
